How you must be suffering

A number of people have said they are praying for me because my decision to leave the legion must be causing a great deal of personal suffering. Quite the opposite is true. The years spent trying to live my vocation sincerely and being treated like otherwise were the greatest suffering. Now that I have turned my gaze to serving Christ exclusively, my suffering is that of souls. Isn’t that what being a priest is all about?

  1. Father (or brother) Who-ever-you-are, I identify with this post! I was associated with the movement in one way or another since the early 80's. My decision to leave has been the best thing in the world for my spiritual life. For years, I stuggled to live my "vocation" as an RC member, always feeling like the proverbial square peg trying to fit into the round hole. Now I feel free, which is exactly what my relationship with Christ needed.

I'm happy for you, and wish you the best. Thanks for sharing your experiences through this blog.
